Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients

Prosecutors report that a former physician has been charged with performing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Charges

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
