Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
